Advocacy: Destination Cinque Terre

Since 2018, Save Vernazza has partnered with other local non-profits and tourism organizations to work on advocacy issues such as quality of life, overtourism, and the environment in the Cinque Terre.

On March 19, 2019, the Committee of Cinque Terre Associations (including Save Vernazza) held a conference called “DESTINATION CINQUE TERRE”. This was the first event on the state of tourism in the Cinque Terre, not seen simply as five villages, but as a tourist destination.

This conference brought together experts on tourism as well as tour operators, entrepreneurs, administrators, associations, and citizens who live in the territory all year round, sharing it with tourists.

This first event on the Cinque Terre destination was strongly supported by the associations operating in the territory of the five villages, with the support of local administrations and the Cinque Terre National Park.

On June 1, 2019, the Committee of Cinque Terre Organizations organized another conference. This conference “L’Ambiente al Centro” was focused on climate change and environmental issues with professor Luca Mercalli.
